About PaycheckCals

PaycheckCals exists to answer one question well: what will actually be in my bank account on payday?

Most paycheck calculators on the web are built by payroll companies. That is not a criticism of the arithmetic — it is a description of the incentives. Those pages are written for the employer running payroll, they carry pricing calls to action, and they tend to stop at the state line because modelling six hundred Ohio municipalities does not sell payroll seats.

This site is built for the person receiving the paycheck. There is no payroll product, no lead form, no advisor matching. The calculators run entirely in your browser, so nothing you type about your salary or your family leaves your device.

What we cover

Federal income tax withholding using the Publication 15-T percentage method, including the Step 2(c) checkbox schedules for two-job households. Social Security, Medicare and the Additional Medicare Tax. Income tax for all fifty states and the District of Columbia. Local income taxes in the jurisdictions that levy them. Employee-paid state social insurance — disability, paid family leave, long-term care and the three states with an employee unemployment contribution. Tax years 2024, 2025 and 2026.

What we do not do

We do not give tax advice, we do not file returns, and we do not model your complete annual tax liability — a paycheck calculator estimates withholding, which is a prepayment, not a final bill. Credits, itemised deductions, investment income and self-employment income all change the final number, and none of them run through payroll.
